Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 | Day 4 - INDIVIDUAL PURSUITS | Activity 1 - Making A Racket
Well, hello folks! Friends & Families! Classmates! Patrick here. Have you ever heard of Venus Williams & Serena Williams? The 2 sisters were one of several women to prove to men that women could play Tennis. One unfair disadvantage that women had when playing Tennis is that men received higher wages than women would. I have watched 2 videos about this and I am going to tell you 3 things I've learnt from these videos. Also, I have to say something that I would still like to know. Hope you enjoy!

ReplyDeleteWow, what an awesome blog post you have put together about Serena and Venus Williams. I think it is so cool that they are both professional tennis players and their sisters! Did you know that they are both former number one female tennis players in the world, aren’t they the coolest?
I really liked your google drawing og your stick figures playing tennis, it is super creative and original. Thank you for sharing the new pieces of information you learned from watching youtube videos about Serna and Venus. I like that you acknowledged the idea that women get treated unfairly in the tennis world compared to the male tennis players. I would really like to understand why male athletes get paid more than female athletes, especially when they are playing the exact same sport.
Did you know the one sport that is slowly rising and trying to change the idea of men getting paid more than women? Rugby, it’s happening in New Zealand now especially with the rising numbers of women playing the sport.
