REAL Summer Learning Journey Day 1 - Activity 2 - Post 2 - My Hometown

My Hometown Description

This post is about my hometown here in New Zealand. The MAIN thing is where I live. My house is located in the residential suburb district of Kelston, Auckland, New Zealand. Kelston's population was just above 4 thousand residents as of 2006. Auckland is very densely populated with just over 1 Million as of 2016! The good reasons are that -

1. It has a dense population which is alright for me.
2. I was born here and that's why I'm suitable for Auckland as well as the whole two islands of New Zealand.
3. The country is close to my home country The Philippines which is very good for my family.

The downsides of Auckland, New Zealand are

1. The Summer heat. (INSANELY HOT! Trust me. The highest I've seen in Auckland was 25 degrees celsius!)
2. The coolness in Winter. (lowest I saw in Auckland was 3 degrees celsius!)
3. The traffic and crowds that bother me. (Not that much but still, it bothers me.)

The specialty of this city is that Auckland is my home. I was born here which makes me a full New Zealand citizen. This is where I technically live, it's beautiful. The sheep here are fantastic as well! What I like most are the sunsets and sunrises. There are a measly amounts of power outages. The most recent one was on Sunday December 16 2018 which started at around  8 PM to 10 PM and was later back at around Midnight.

That is it for this post bloggers and as the first post, thanks for taking your time to read these posts. Blog ya later!

  1. Kia ora Patrick,

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! I am so excited to see that you have completed a few days worth of activities already. This is incredible, Patrick. I cannot wait to read them all and follow your journey over the summer.

Thank you so much for sharing more about the suburb of Kelston. I cannot believe that there is around 4000 people living there, it sure is densely populated. What can you do for fun around Kelston, do you have local parks that you enjoy visiting, or are there any beaches? I have never been to Kelston before, so I would love for you to describe to me what it is like. Are there nice houses? Is there a nice cafe that you visit to get a hot chocolate.

I would love to hear more about why you love Kelston. I will be sure to keep an eye out for a reply from you so I can hear more about Kelston.

    Keep up the awesome work,
    Megan :)
